Global supermarket giant ALDI’s philosophy is to give people the opportunity to buy everyday groceries of the highest quality at the lowest possible price.

In support of this, ALDI recognises that the quality and display of its fresh produce has a strong impact on store sales.

To ensure fresh produce is handled and presented as favourably as possible, ALDI engaged Anvil Media to develop a training video to teach staff best practice skills in back of house preparation, storage and in-store handling of fresh produce.

In collaboration with ALDI, Anvil Media developed a structure and script that would communicate important information and reinforce the importance of caring about how well fresh produce is handled and displayed.

We felt that by using a staff member as the presenter, the message would be communicated with greater authenticity and credibility. We hosted a casting session to identify a suitable candidate and provided coaching to ensure the messages were delivered clearly and persuasively.

We filmed in three different stores while they were open. Being mindful of the fact that it was ‘business as usual’ for ALDI while we were there, we minimised our ‘footprint’ to avoid any inconvenience for customers and staff.

By interviewing customers in-store and including their comments, we created a context for why a staff member should actively follow the practices being taught.

Since its completion, we’ve received very positive feedback from ALDI management. The training video has been distributed company-wide and assisted greatly in teaching skills and awareness of best practice principles of fresh produce handling and display.

Anvil Media has wide experience in producing training videos for clients from a variety of industries. We would be pleased to discuss with you how you can improve the effectiveness of your staff training with a training video developed by us. Contact us today to learn more.
