Doug Austin

Doug is a Sydney based creative with an exceptional eye innate rhythm for editing. Doug’s main role at Anvil is to piece together our stories by cutting and assembling footage with music and graphics.

He joined Anvil Media in 2022 after a 33 year career with a national commercial broadcaster, mostly working on news/public affairs programming, but also sports, lifestyle, drama, variety and even religious programs. Some of these programs enjoyed over 1 million viewers per day, winning national ratings.

Doug grew up in Sydney and Hong Kong. Though never a farmer, he considers agriculture to be part of his DNA. “My father’s side many generations back had a lot of involvement in Merino breeding and my great grandfather was a veterinarian and research scientist for the CSIR and various state ag departments in the 1920s and 30s, specialising in cattle diseases”, says Doug. Doug’s background and expertise make him a great fit for Anvil.
