Professor Andrew Barr has received GRDC’s prestigious Seed of Gold Award, in recognition of a lifetime dedicated to the grains industry. Professor Barr has been a plant breeder for half a century, during which time he’s developed 24 varieties of oats, barley and wheat. The Seed of Gold Award recognises those people in the grains industry that have made a significant impact.
