Leading WHS in the Disability Sector
National Disability Services engaged Anvil Media and our friends at OHS Solutions to develop an interactive training module to teach effective work, health and safety practices. The website includes videos and competency assessments for the user to work through. This interactive training program covers the key components of a Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS). It’s vital training for organisations that care for people with a disability since failure to implement a WHSMS can not only expose organisations to potential legal non-compliance, but also create poor morale, lower productivity and lead to unsafe behaviours which may cause injuries.
Our “Leading WHS in the disability sector” interactive training package was developed through a WorkCover Training and Education Assist Grant. The modules were created specifically with the disability sector in mind. Completion of the training leads to a certificate qualification, so the content is quite detailed – a little like an interactive texbook. It’s not a lightweight production, because it’s not a lightweight subject. Nevertheless, graphical interactive elements such as this animated, hazard identification exercise helped make the module more engaging.
