Darryl Anderson

Executive Producer, Television Presenter
Sydney Video Production Team

Darryl Anderson, Anvil Media

Darryl delivers compelling visual media that brings our clients’ communication goals to life. He has the right expertise. He’s produced broadcast TV across metropolitan and regional Australia since 1993, including experience as a news reporter with Network Ten; senior reporter and producer for Australia’s popular rural-affairs program, Cross Country; and a presenter for the Good Taste food television show.

Darryl founded Anvil Media in 2000 to fill the niche for an audio-visual production agency that was approachable and had a particular understanding of the issues faced by those involved in primary production.

“At Anvil Media, we have substantial experience in working with organisations engaged in agriculture and associated industries. We’re also accustomed to working in remote locations throughout Australia and managing the production logistics that go with that.”

Darryl has a strong affinity with country life, coming from a family that’s been farming for generations – from market-gardening on Sydney’s (then) fringe, to inland dairying and broadacre cropping in central west NSW. Darryl holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics from the University of Sydney.

“I really enjoy the variety of our work and developing fresh creative concepts for our clients that are in sync with their communication and marketing strategy,” he says.

“I also enjoy all aspects of production planning, hosting and presenting, and seeing the finished product achieve what it is designed to do.”

Michael Neil-Smith

Creative Director
Sydney Video Production Team

Michael Neil-Smith, Anvil Media

Michael’s directing and producing experience includes numerous television series for both free-to-air and Pay TV broadcasters. He has also written and directed commercials, corporate videos, educational and training films for a multitude of clients. Michael’s corporate clients are drawn from both the private and public sector, and include multi-national corporations, right through to a range of small to medium size businesses.

“I have a particular passion for travel and history,” said Michael. “These have been reflected in projects such a ‘Railway Adventures’ and ‘Australian Icon Towns’, which are just some of the productions that have taken me to all corners of the country.”

Michael’s familiarity and appreciation of the rural and regional Australian landscape is a perfect fit for many of Anvil Media’s agriculture based clients. His ‘down to earth’ style and clearly communicated approach brings out the best in the teams he works with.

“My relationships with a large number of clients stretch back over many years,” he said. “They value the time and effort I put into understanding their business and communication needs so that together, we develop a video production that accurately and creatively reflects the message they want to communicate.”

Like others on the Anvil Media team, Tony has a particular interest in working in the rural sector. “Agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, those are the stories I love to work on,” he says. “We’re pretty good here at shaping stories that can take you from the paddock, vineyard, where-ever to the boardroom.”
